Vasjen Katro
For my Art is Life section this week, I wanted to post someone who I believe is a very talented freelance artist. His name is Vasjen Katro. Check out his portfolio on http://mybrainart.com/.
This requires police officer's to question people about their immigration status if the police think they are in the country illegally.
Arizona immigration law “basically requires racial profiling” and could violate people’s civil rights, and law enforcement agencies that say it would be a mistake to bring similar legislation to California.
The Arizona law, considered the nation’s toughest against illegal immigration, was signed Friday by Republican Gov. Jan Brewer in a televised event. The legislation, which takes effect 90 days after the current legislative session, makes it a crime under state law to be in the country illegally.
I stubbled upon another blog that I really liked and read. The kid who runs it is a college student based out of New Jersey by the name of Phillip T. Annand. He is a writer and designer who is very talented.
I enjoy hearing and learning about other motivated young people who have a dream and passion to do what they feel is best for them artistically and financially. Not everyone wants to sit behind a desk/counter and work hard to make someone else a green dollar, and he is truly following his own ambitions. He runs a streetwear line by the name of The Award Tour. His clothes are very clean, his site http://www.theawardtour.com/ is one of a kind, and his message is "seize every moment that life presents to you and attack every second you are given with wreckless abandon and dedication to the pursuit of enjoyment...you only love once, enjoy those around you and enjoy the time that you have..."
Great message and great way to think in my opinion. But check out the clothes and Phillip T. Annand at http://hypebeast.com/blog/phillipannand/
Yo this is some Photography from my boy, my brother, and my partner Donald Prophete. This dude is one artistic brotha. This man live by " I want to be known as the guy that wanted to change the universe, but settled for changing the world". Are you serious!! This kid is crazy.
What I love about Don is his work ethic. The man gets busy. He a real boss lol...literally. He went to get a job and a few months later he became manager haha. He works hard at everything that he do. When he hits the scene to shoot, he gets busy. Hundereds and hundreds of flicks nonstop.
He is from Southside Jamaica, Queens, and he rep that to the fullest. Here are a few of his flicks. You can find him at www.facebook.c
Wood Chains are a craze thats becoming really popular. Go to http://goodwoodnyc.com/. Each design is hand sanded, painted and lasered by designer and founder Kerri O’Connell.
Its cool and what I like about it is its something that even I could wear. Alot of people dont like wearing jewelery and cant afford jewelery so this was a greeat idea and its popping in the hip-hop community heavy right now. So Take a look!!! God Bless
Here is my first Art is Life Post. Hope you enjoy and found some inspiraton from this...
ISAAC FORTUOL
Isaac Fortuol is a very talented emerging artist who's work has been featured in Dame Dash's gallery DD172. Isaac's style is being recognized and his work is becoming known by the art community. His peices are drawn in pen and ink and then watercolored.
I believe his work truly comes from the harshness of coming up in the ghetto. Each piece tells a story. His work has been shown in galleries throughout Pheonix, San Fransisco, Las Vegas and New York. There is so much to his art, and I picked out a few of my favorite to show on my blog.
He was also featured in the Japanese magazine LUSSW. Him and his team are some very talented young people, and if you want to see more on Isaac and/or his team check out his site http://www.fortoulpresents.com/
While checking out one of my favorite sites http://thecssawards.com/, I came across a site with a extraordinary design. The site http://www.livingdesign.info/ featured work from a designer by the name of Judson Beaumont. His funiture design is out of this world and he really comes up with some wacky stuff. Here is some examples.
Found something that I think is crazy. These here are Louis Vuitton Coin Purses. These tiny coin purses are going for US$340. I would never pay that much for something so small, but you know how woman are.
The Animania collection is a playful pack of Monogram-clad animals and cute details. These pieces features the animal patchwork made from Monogram canvas, patent leather, and karung snakeskin. There is also a silk scarf to join the collection that comes in Violet, Red and Coral.
Who knows this might just beat out the hello kitty craze. Dont get me wrong they are cute in a different kind of way, but I would never buy something like this for my girl. I do enjoy the colors and the simplicity put into the animals tho.
If you want to see more of this check out http://www.ilvoelv.com/2010/01/louis-vuitton-monogram-vernis-animaux.html
If you dont know who Dee and Ricky is by now then you don't even deserve to be on my blog. Ok maybe thats a lil harsh, but for the fashionably retarded Dee and Ricky are leaders of originality. The duo from Staten Island linked up with Marc Jacob and created history Fashion week with Legos. That pretty much sums it up.
Anyway the two were in my hometown of Akron, OH and even stopped up in Cleveland to check out them good ol Cavs. And yes I was raised in a small town in OH.
As eccentric as they might be I think Dee and Ricky are geniuses. They capitalized on being themselves. If you want to see more of them check out http://hypebeast.com/
Here are some pics of their trip to Akron, OH. Ohio stand up!!!!!!!
Check out new artist Calso Mitch of SkyZutoh Media at his new site http://calsomitch.ning.com/
His new mixtape entitled "Balloons" is taking over the internet right now, and he is as lyrical as they come. Look out for a interview from him very soon with ENDangered Future. What I respect about him is his love for music and art. Especially since i myself am a freelance artist.
When asked why the mixtape was called Balloons this was his response: "balloons represent thriving to reach new heights, regardless of race, age, or background; we want our people to touch the sky by encouraging new ideas, creativity, and amplifying their individual voices..."
Wow. You got to respect that. There isn't that many young recording artist who treat their music like a art anymore. He is a true MC and he got my support to the fullest. So check out the music and join his site!!
Even tho we are originally a knitted sweater and scarf brand, for the summer I decided to go a different route. This June we will be officially dropping our one of a kind ENDangered Future Polos. We will be only making 9 colorways. That's right you heard me 9! They are very exclusive so be ready when they drop.
We chose the number nine because the number 9 represents man and everything to do with the physical and material plane. 9 is the number of force, energy, destruction and war in its most dominant quality; and we want to rage war on the wackness that is being delivered in our stores. In its relation to ordinary life, the number 9 denotes energy, ambition, leadership, and domination.
The colourways are:
1. Royal Blue w/lime panda
2. Red w/wht. panda
3. Red Reef (Pink) w/green panda
4. Active Yellow w/ wht. panda
5. Newport Navy w/ blue panda
6. Purple w/ gold panda
7. White w/ blue panda
8. White w/ blk panda
9. Black w/ wht. panda
Each Polo will have the ENDangered Future insignia (6 inch.) stitched on the left chest, and an (4 inch.) "X" on the bottom right of the back. There will be a limited number of polos, just enough to set the mood for the summer. So keep a lookout! God Bless
